Santo Domingo.-The Dominican Liberation Party (PLD) tries to point out this year its candidate for the Presidency of the Republic for the scheduled elections to be held in May 2028.

The candidate or the candidate who is indicated will be formalized on the date on which the Dominican electoral legislation establishes.

The department
The department for the choice of the presidential candidacy will begin at the end of this month at a meeting of the Political Committee that will be convened for that purpose, in which the rules of the game will be established.

The JCE said that, for the general elections of 2028, the pre -campaign period will begin on the first Sunday of July 2027.
