APP Congressman Rosio Torres will continue to be investigated: PJ rejected his order to close the case

He Judicial Branch rejected the request for the control of the term of the Congressman Rosio Torres (Alliance for Progress)with which he sought to cancel the preliminary investigation against him for the alleged crime of painful pain in the grievance of the State.

The fiscal accusation indicates that Torres would have used their office staff in the Congress to support her husband’s campaign work, Fernando Meléndez, who applied for the position of regional governor of Loreto.

In that case, the defense of the congresswoman based the request for the control of the term, ensuring that there was a violation of due process and the reasonable period. According to the assumption, the Prosecutor’s Office opened the preliminary investigation, on September 9, 2024, for a term other than the sixty days that does not admit extensions or extensions.

They also indicated that the term of 90 days won on December 8, 2024, so they requested that the investigation be closed, however, they received a fiscal provision, issued on December 5, 2024 and notified on December 12 of that Year, where they were informed that the extension had expanded for eight months.

In response, the Supreme Judge, Juan Carlos Checklyhe dismissed the request claiming that the Prosecutor’s Office extended the term on December 5, 2024, before the expiration of the original 90 -day deadline. In addition, he said that the decision was notified on the 12th of that month for the non -working days and holidays.

Rosío Torres also had a complaint for alleged salary cut

On the other hand, in addition to the investigation for alleged peculation, the APP parliamentarian had an investigation in Congress for alleged salary cut.

Despite this, on February 7, the Subcommission of constitutional accusations (SAC) filed the complaint against Congresswoman Rosío Torres Salinas (Alliance for Congress). The accusation, presented by the Prosecutor of the Nation, indicated it as a concussion for the alleged cut of salaries to the workers of his office.

As the Republic reported it, the SAC entrusted the Congressman Segundo Quiroz to prepare the final report and this concluded that the constitutional complaint against his app colleague lacked evidence. “The archiving of the accusation against Congresswoman Rosío Torres is arranged, which grows from legal, probative and factual support, which prevents continuing with the process,” Quiroz said at the close of reading her report in the session.

After reading the report, there were no interventions, neither in person or virtual. So María Acuña, president of the working group, sent the final report on App. With 15 votes in favor, 1 against and 2 abstentions, the subcommission of constitutional accusations filed, by majority, the complaint.
