A questionable appointment. The President of the Republic, Dina Boluarteappointed his personal assistant and friend Carmen Elizabeth Giordano, as a member of the Indo -Pi Board of Directors (National Institute for the Defense of Competition and the Protection of Intellectual Property).
Giordano, in addition, is a witness of the sound Rolex case, for which the Prosecutor’s Office conducts preliminary investigations against the president for the alleged commission of the crimes of illicit enrichment, omission of consigning statements in documents and improper passive bribery, after apparently receiving expensive brand watches Rolex of the Regional Governor of Ayacucho, Wilfredo Oscorima.
As Boluarte mentioned before the Prosecutor’s Office, Giordano witnessed at least one meeting with Oscorima in which the watches were discussed.
The designation was completed through the publication of Supreme Resolution No. 022-2025-PCM in the Official Gazette El Peruano, signed by the Boluarte itself and by the president of the Council of Ministers (PCM), Gustavo Adrianzén.
In February 2024, it was revealed that in 2019 Giordano and the president Dina Boluarte shared a application list for the Dean of the Lima Bar Association (CAL). Carmen Giordano had an active role during the 2021 electoral campaign, accompanying Boluarte. From the beginning of the government, he was his advisor and his ex -husband, Francisco Valerio Fidel, invoiced S/176,000 to the Ministry of Development and Social Inclusion (MIDIS) between November 2021 and January 2024.
Just Boluarte was Minister of the Midis from July 2021 to November 2022, one month before it jur as president, after the vacancy of Pedro Castillo for his attempt at Autogolpe. In December 2024, she was appointed technical advisor to the Technical Cabinet of the Presidency of the Republic.
