The prominent troubadour Cuban Eduardo Sosa remains admitted to the Intensive Care Unit of the General Teaching Hospital Dr. Agostinho Neto, in the province of Guantanamowhere it has been treated after recently suffering a stroke.
In the last hours rumors disseminated through social networks said that the musician had died, something that was denied by various sources, including the Cuban Institute of Music (ICM), through his Facebook profile.
The institution itself gave details about the most recent part of the doctors who serve the Santiago singer -songwriter, and that indicates that it remains “under critical conditions with a reserved prognosis.”
The assessment adds that “modifications in their neurological state have been recorded under artificial ventilation regime and equal complications of respiratory infection and renal failure under medical treatment.”
Sosa, 52, suffered the health accident during a tour of Guantanamero territory, where he participated in the theatrical crusade and in debates of the X Congress of the Union of Writers and Artists of Cuba (UNEAC).
Given the magnitude of the stroke, the specialists decided to submit it to a surgical intervention that “fulfilled its goal” at that time, but that “does not completely solve the problem,” according to medical valuations.
