A recent report by the Global Numbeo platform confirms the worrying advance of crime in Peru, which has climbed 30 positions in the world ranking during the last decade.
Currently, the country is among the ten with higher levels of insecurity, reflecting an alarming trend.
Lima, the capital, also shows significant deterioration in this indicator. According to the study, it occupies the 23rd position in the global ranking of more insecure cities, with a crime index of 70.66, exceeding its position in 2015, when it was located in the 50th place with a score of 66.96.
