MAP promotes digital transformation in public administration with vision towards 2030

Santo Domingo. He Ministry of Public Administration (MAP), Through the Vice Ministry of Innovation and Technology, LHe set out a meeting with directors and in charge of the areas of technology and cybersecurity of the public administration, with the purpose of sharing the vision of digital transformation of the government and the strategic lines of work towards the internal of the ministry.

“From the Ministry of Public Administration, under the vision of our president, Luis Abinader, we are committed to modernizing the State, and a fundamental part of that modernization lies in the integration of technology in all our processes. This digital transformation is not only a technological challenge, but also an opportunity to make more agile, accessible and transparent the services we offer to the Dominican people, ”Freund said.

The general director of the Government Office of Information and Communication Technologies (OGTIC), Edgar Batista, added that “this meeting will mark an important milestone in the history of the implementation of the digital government in our country, allowing to define a clear road map To move towards a more efficient, safe and centered administration, as established by our 2030 digital agenda ”.

During the meeting, the MAP Deputy Minister of Innovation and Technology In the public sector through resolutions 341 and 342-2024, the data governance framework and interoperability, and the restructuring of the integrated civil service system (SISC) in collaboration with ITLA.

Likewise, the results of the “perception and digital government needs” survey were socialized, applied to those responsible for technology and cybersecurity, which allowed identifying the perception of the digital government in the state, the challenges of interoperability projects, and The needs of personnel, budget and the strengthening of the ICT areas in the government sector.

The digital government seeks to achieve the efficiency and transparency of public administration through the use and adoption of digital technologies, increasingly bringing the State to citizens to improve their quality of life.

In addition, it seeks to reach a digital nation by 2030, where the digital divide has been significantly decreased by more than 50%, so that its citizens and institutions take advantage of technology in promoting sustainable economic and social development.
