The Morelos Congress voted in favor of the dismissal of prosecutor Uriel Carmona Gándara, who today announced that he would proceed against former Governor Cuauhtémoc Blanco, accused of attempted rape.
It was the State Executive Power, headed by Margarita González, who sent the request to remove Carmona from office, who this morning said there could be political consequences for going against Blanco.
During an interview for the José Cárdenas program on Radio Formula, Carmona said that the removal of the position is the result of having been an ‘uncomfortable fiscal’ ‘.
” I am the Morelos prosecutor and a lot of honor. I am seeing if I keep defending or not. What we did was proceed against someone who is accused of a serious crime, of a sexual crime, of an attack against his half -sister, Cuauhtémoc Blanco is accused of attempted rape, and what they do is dismiss the head of The Prosecutor’s Office. This is this, ” he said.
The former official said that former Governor Cuauhtémoc Blanco ” dedicated himself to putting intrigue ” between him and the Federal Executive Power.
” I thought they were going to congratulate me. I am not a politician. What I know is that there was already a tendency to set responsibilities to public servants of the administration of Cuauhtémoc Blanco, ” he said when he was questioned about whether he expected his dismissal.
The Morelos Congress is one of those who have a morenista majority. The dismissal received 14 votes in favor and four against.
The case proceeded against Carmona for “having stopped meeting the permanence requirements in office.”

Uriel Carmona arrived at the Morelos Prosecutor’s Office during the mandate of Graco Ramírez, in February 2018. He was still two years in his post.
It is not the first time that Carmona was on the tightrope. In 2023, the then head of government Claudia Sheinbaum requested her dismissal after she allegedly cover up the feminicide of a young woman.

He was released when the Judicial Power of Mexico City determined that the case was a political persecution.

The Morelos Prosecutor’s Office today asked the Chamber of Deputies for the lawlessness of the federal and former governor deputy, Cuauhtémoc Blanco.

The former governor of Morelos was accused of his half -sister of attempted rape. This crime would have occurred in December 2023 in the official residence of the State. The woman also denounced the legislator for threats and labor harassment when she worked in the Ministry of Economic Development and the Labor of Morelos, during the administration of Blanco.
In a radio interview, the then prosecutor explained that, only if Blanco is bound, the ministerial investigations of the Morelos Prosecutor’s Office could continue.
