The Cinemateca de Cuba He celebrates his 65 years of created since Thursday. He will do it with a cycle of film projections that will have as a cover the Franco-Litralian co-production Lilas Puerta.
February will house the anniversary celebrations, with a special program. The same includes the film Napoleon, by Abel Gance, recently restored, and productions of filmmakers such as Stanley Kubrick, Marco Bellocchio and Iván Zulueta, film director Rapture.
Lilas Puerta (1957), a film selected to inaugurate the cycle, she was nominated for an Oscar for the best non -English speech movie and the Bafta Awards for Best Foreign Film and Actor (Pierre Brasseur).
This black and white film, directed by René Clair, has the performances of Georges Brassens, Henri Vidal and Dani Carrel.
The presentation of restored shorts of the Lumière brothers has been a news for the specialists of the Cinemateca and the spectators. You can see the images taken by the inventors of the cinematographer and its cameramen at the end of the 19th century with amazing quality, thanks to the most modern digital technologies used in the restoration processes of film materials.
This restoration has been possible by carrying them to 4 k already 60 fps (60 paintings per second). At the same time they were colored (not colored), a technique that consists in the fact that from the gray shades of the black and white images it can be determined what their original colors were and make them visible.
Friday will be the premiere in Cuba of the copy of The raptureof the Italian Marco Bellocchio. This co -production between Italy, France and Germany, has Filippo Timi, Fabrizio Gifuni, Barbara Ronchi and Paolo Pierobon in its cast.
