Updated today by the Ministry of Health indicated 47 deaths from dengue in the state of São Paulo this year, which already has 132,000 probable cases of the disease. There are 183 deaths in the state, which had more than double cases in the first five weeks of the year compared to the 2024.
The increase in Sao Paulo had considerable weight in the total cases in the country, which already records 61 deaths in 2025 and 226 thousand probable cases, in addition to 259 deaths under investigation. The NIES Platform of the State Department of Health Paulista, which usually records different number of cases and deaths, shows 38 deaths in the state and 136,000 probable cases, as well as 191 deaths under investigation in the last partial, updated today.
According to this platform, most cases and deaths in the state are concentrated in the Northern Region, in the regions of Araçatuba and São José do Rio Preto, which alone confirm 19 cases and incidence considered high, with 1442 and 1206 cases per group of 100 thousand inhabitants, respectively.
Yellow fever
Both the city and the state of São Paulo reinforce the alerts for yellow fever vaccination, with vaccination coverage rates around 80%, above 73.78% of national average but below 95% recommended. The Ministry of Health confirmed that the total of cases since July 2024 has reached nine in the country, with five deaths, all occurred in São Paulo.
According to the folder, the inventories of the vaccine are regular, with shipments made according to the requests of the states, which are responsible for distribution to the municipalities.
In 2024, the Ministry of Health distributed 20,882,790 doses of the yellow fever vaccine and recorded the application of 6,655,319. In 2025, 3201,800 doses were distributed and 170,336 applied.
