Havana/A Tranlt Bus in which 20 Czech tourists were traveling, along with two drivers and a translator, suffered a fire on Thursday while traveling through the vicinity of the Collantes’ Topes viewpoints, in the province of Sancti Spíritus, according to the local press. In the incident there was no need to regret losses of human lives or injured passengers.
The vehicle made a tourist tour of that mountainous area belonging to the Sierra del Escambray, explained to the official media Yensy Turiño, director of Tranlt in Sancti Spíritus. The disseminated images show a totally carbonized bus in the middle of a road while ascending to the viewpoint, located in the municipality of Trinidad.
“The fire was suffocated in a matter of minutes by specialized forces of the Ministry of Interior, without reporting injuries to any kind to passengers or the crew of the bus,” said Turiño, who added that the documentation of the visitors was not lost foreigners but part of their luggage.

So far, the causes of the fire of a bus are unknown, which “seemed in good technical condition and traveled in the middle of capacity,” adds the spiritual newspaper Escambray.
The tourists traveling in the wrecked vehicle are part of the passengers who landed last Saturday at the Abel Santamaría International Airport, in the city of Santa Clara, on the first flight of this year from the Czech Republic.
The route, operated by the World2fly airline, arrived with 281 passengers and with its arrival the connection between Prague and Santa Clara inaugurated in 2024 was restarted. The air link will have a weekly frequency, every Saturday until March 29.
