President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva said, on Thursday (6), that the exemption of income tax for those who earn up to $ 5,000 is a matter of social justice. According to him, the increase in salary land associated with a reduction in the price of foods will bring gains and budget flexibility to the population.
In an interview with Bahia’s metropolis and society radios, Lula recalled that the expansion of the income tax exemption range to $ 5,000 is one of the campaign’s proposals, and that she was approved by voters.

According to Lula, the increase in the minimum wage and the workers’ salary range are also campaign promises and this can be even better if it comes with the reduction in food price.
He, however, reaffirmed that the current inflationary rates are better than those recorded in the previous government. “Just compare the inflation of these two years of my government, 7.6%, with the first two years of Bolsonaro, which was 27.4%,” he said.
Lula reaffirmed that his government is working to ensure that food price returns to a reasonable level. “We are talking to entrepreneurs and using the competence of the farm and ministries of agriculture and agrarian development to find a solution to reduce these prices.”

He said that with the opening of 303 new markets for Brazilian products – mostly in the food sector – it will be possible to produce more and better quality, and this will enable the cheap of prices.
