Carlos Carrillo, director of the National Unit for Disaster Risk Management (UNGRD)announced Wednesday that he presented his Protocol renunciation of the positionafter the tense council of ministers on Tuesday, broadcast live on national television.
In dialogue with time, he assured that it makes no sense to issue criticism in the actions of the National Government and stay in office: “At the end of all this very long televised show, I put a trill that I make my position available to the president, because it is the minimum: that we deliver the protocol resignation and that he is in the freedom to make his cabinet“
(You can read: Departures, advice of televised ministers and other changes that would come for the government).
And he added: “What remained before the eyes of all Colombians is that the cabinet is not working, that the president is dissatisfied. And he is, not only the Head of Government, but the Head of State“
I think it is necessary for the entire cabinet and the entire high government to present without delay the protocol renunciation.
Those of us who have not been elected, cannot hold on to dignities, the minimum gesture of thanks is not to tie our hands to the president.
I put my position …– Carlos Carrillo (@carloscarrilloa) February 5, 2025
Shortly after the council finished, Carrillo put a publication on his X account in which he indicated that the entire cabinet should present its protocol resignation immediately.
(Further: The resignations continue: Juan David Correa presented his resignation as Mincultura).
“I think it is necessary for the entire cabinet and the entire high government to present without delay the protocol renunciation. Those of us who have not been elected, cannot hold on to dignities, the minimum gesture of thanks is not to tie our hands to the president. I make my position available“, wrote.
Carillo, unlike his predecessor Jorge Rojas, He left his position available to the Head of State, so his permanence or exit of the Executive will depend on President Gustavo Petro.
