Nicolás Maduro appointed Julio León Heredia as the new Minister for Productive Agriculture and Lands in substitution to General Menry Fernández who held the position since August of 2024.
“I said (Leon Heredia) with all the political and organizational experience of an undefeated yaracuy, it is time to come to the national government and I am designating it Minister for Agriculture and Land,” he announced Ripe This Wednesday, February 5.
He recalled that Leon Heredia Governed Yaracuy four times. He said he has done a great job in the entity since December 2008. “From Yaracuy to the big leagues.”
According to Maduro, who spoke from the Ayacucho Hall, of the Miraflores Palace, during the activation of the fifth transformation (5T), of the plan of the 7 transformations, the change in the cabinet occurred according to the seven transformations.
He acknowledged that it is necessary to boost the construction of a Venezuelan concept of productive regeneration of the Earth.
He stressed that there is support and experience of the Ministry of Science and Technology. He explained that in this way the concept “of productive agroecological regenerative agriculture can be configured, to produce organic foods for Venezuelans and replace all imports.”
He said that the goal has to be “zero import to develop the export vocation to full hands, with the agro-alba project,” he said when he called “recovering all farms and farms in the hands of the state and all have to be productive together with People, and overcome, at the root, all errors and corruption of the people who have been given these farms. ”
León Heredia before assuming the Government, was deputy to the National Assembly (AN).
