The Prosecutor of the Nation, Delia Espinoza, opened investigation against the Supreme Prosecutor Zoraida Ávalosand members of Special Lava Jato team, for allegedly favoring the Odebrecht company with the effective collaboration agreement.
Espinoza made that decision after receiving the complaint filed by lawyers José Luis France and Luis Pacheco Mandujano, who warned that Ávalos and prosecutors Rafael Vela and José Domingo Pérez did not promote an investigation due to the Brazilian company.
France is a lawyer for Gonzalo Monteverde, syndicated by the Public Ministry of having received money from the construction company that served to pay bribes in Peru.
Zoraida Ávalos, who was a friend and ally of Delia Espinoza, was the highest authority of the Prosecutor’s Office when the prosecutor’s team reached an understanding with Odebrecht so as not to process it in exchange for privileged information on the outbreak of bribes. That happened in 2019.
This newspaper knew that prosecutor Espinoza has separated the case in parts: the illicit enrichment area sees the process against Ávalos; Supreme prosecutor José Timimchi investigates Vela and Procurator Lava Jato, Silvana Carrión; and another prosecution will take over the process against José Domingo Pérez.
However, crimes point to the same thing: criminal organization, personal and real cover -up, and prevaricate.
