The first vice president of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), Diosdado Cabello, announced the formation of a special electoral commission that will have the Plenipotential powers to choose the Red Tolda candidates who will participate in the elections planned for April 27.
“This is a process that must be framed in the highest possible purity (…) Therefore, the Electoral Commission will receive all the proposals (names) of the 47 thousand communities that will go to assemblies,” said Cabello, during the extraordinary plenary and Congress of the PSUV, where he insisted that a method of candidate elections that combines foundations of bases and assemblies must be developed.
He added that they will also carry out surveys, in which they will consider between 3 or 5 polls about “mayors, governorates, performance in the National Assembly (AN)”.
In addition, they will evaluate other variables that each of the postulates must comply, such as: “Venezuelan, patriot, anti -imperialist, defender of the legacy of Hugo Chávez, recognized ethical and moral, to be part of the PSUV or JPSUV, older than 21 years, no having been sentenced, having impeccable behavior, and other characteristics. ”
“We are going to present the proposal of our candidates (…) that they have commitment to the party and work with the basis of the people. Compliance has to be permanent, not every time the elections approach, ”emphasized hair, adding that among the postulates they will also choose for the first time the governor of the Guayana Esequiba.
During his statements, Cabello reported that all militants of the Great Patriotic Pole (GPP) are enabled to participate in elections and exercise political positions.
On April 27, Venezuelans will choose 277 deputies of the National Assembly (AN), 24 governors, 335 mayors, 23 legislative councils and 335 municipal councils, in accordance with the National Electoral Council (CNE).
Given these elections, Cabello expressed the need to strengthen political structures at a communal and regional level to achieve the victory of these elections.
“From here we have to be strengthened, with a method accepted by all to continue strengthening the structure of the party. We are not going to the elections to lose them, we are going to win them, ”he said.
