In a political context marked by the intense discussion about the suspension of the primary, open, simultaneous and mandatory (step), the Government Nacional met with several provincial governors to address another crucial issue: the financing of public works.
The meeting that I call the Governmentled by the Minister of Economy, Luis Caputo, and the chief of Cabinet, Guillermo Francos, focused on the need to advance with projects that had been paralyzed due to the lack of funds.
The governors present at the meeting represented the provinces of Norte Argentino, including Catamarca, Jujuy, Salta, Tucumán and Misiones. Among them were Raúl Jalil (Catamarca), Carlos Sadir (Jujuy), Gustavo Sáenz (Salta), Osvaldo Jaldo (Tucumán) and Adolfo Safrán (Misiones).

According to Osvaldo Jaldo, governor of Tucumán, the National Government promised to send the necessary resources to continue the public works that had been interrupted. Among the aforementioned works were the Aqueduct of Vipos, improvements at the Tucumán airport and the 200 meter wiring in Salta, part of the “Güemes Plan” to avoid smuggling and the entry of narcotics.
The meeting also highlighted the importance of collaboration between the national government and the provinces to expedite the progress of public works contracts. Guillermo Francos stressed that the objective was to “expedite the progress of the signed agreements in a timely manner with the provinces” and assured that the national government was willing to continue with the financing of the works.

Although the government of Javier Milei had announced the “end of public works”, the ministers agreed to send resources to the provinces during the negotiations.
