Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB) destroyed three illegal camps installed by irregular groups in Colombia in the Jesús María Semprum municipality of the Zulia state, reported the Operational Strategic Commander of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB), GJ Domingo Hernández Lárez.
According to the CEOFANB press release, the senior military officer detailed the structures were detected by patrol and scrutiny tasks framed in the Bolivarian shield operation “Catatumbo 2025 lightning.”
One of the camps was an Entreening Center with the capacity to house up to 80 men belonging to irregular groups. In addition, two logistics camps were destroyed. It is presumed that one of the structures belonged to a paramilitary leader.
Hernández Lárez also reported that this action also seized 655 wrappers of alleged cocaine, 1,400 liters of acetone. In addition, a truck and several military garments alluding to the FARC were rendered useless.
It is important to remember that the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, ordered the activation of the binational operation “Catatumbo Lightning” in order to ensure that Colombian paramilitaries did not cross Venezuelan territory to take refuge from the armed conflict that develops in the catatumbo of the Negranadino country that has left hundreds of displaced and more than 80 dead in the border line.
The Bolivarian National Armed Forces remains deployed throughout the territory guaranteeing independence and sovereignty, ensuring the integrity of the geographical space.
