After seven months of struggle, resilience and a recovery process that challenged all medical forecasts, Laura Villamil, Andrés’s dancer who suffered burns in 90% of her body, finally received the medical discharge.

This Monday, February 3, 2025, surrounded by their loved ones, left the Santa Fe Foundation Clinic to begin a new stage in his home.

The news was confirmed by his brother, Santiago Villamil, who documented the emotional moment through his social networks.

In a video, Laura, dressed in a long butterfly dress and a black beret, appears smiling, taken from the hands of her parents while singing a song that reflects her unshakable spirit: How beautiful it is to see you breathe.

An accident that marked his life

On August 17, 2024, Laura Villamil’s life changed forever. During a presentation at the renowned Andrés Reta de Chia restaurant, an accident with fire caused burns to almost all of its body. His condition was critical and the doctors decided to induce a coma to stabilize it.

A month later, on September 14, he woke up. Although the recovery would be long and challenging, the dancer expressed from the first moment her determination to move again. “Whenever I have life, since my heart can, I will be moving, which is what is needed”He said firmly.

A recovery process that challenged forecasts

Villamil’s rehabilitation was a resistance path. For months, he faced surgeries, treatments to eliminate bacteria in his wounds and intensive care to recover mobility. Despite having spent Christmas and New Year at the clinic, he never lost hope of returning home.

In December 2024, he dreamed of receiving the festivities, but his body still needed time. Finally, on February 3, 2025, the wait ended. “Calm and ashes, flourish,” were his words when leaving the hospital, reflecting his transformation after tragedy.

A future full of determination for Laura Villamil

Although the recovery path continues with physical therapies and external consultations, Laura’s progress has been extraordinary. Against all forecast, he walked again, move and even kick a ball.

Now, with the support of his family and the intact faith, Laura Villamil begins a new stage, reaffirming her promise to never stop moving.
