The Ministry of Health (Minsa), through the National Center for the Supply of Strategic Health Resources (Cenares), supervised the arrival of a batch of 27,000 units of cancer drugs that will be distributed nationwide in the coming days.
The Deputy Minister of Benefits and Health Insurance, Augusto Tarazona Fernández, together with the general director of Cenares, José Antonio Gonzáles, thus verified the arrival of 20,000 units of the drug Filgrastim (injectables) at the Cenares warehouse located in Callao.
Among the pharmaceutical products received are also 3,000 units of Paclitaxel 100 mg and 4,000 units of Paclitaxel 30 mg, which arrived last Tuesday night and will be distributed shortly to health facilities throughout the country.
Tarazona Fernández highlighted the effort of Cenares to finalize the purchase of these products that were in short supply, a situation “that affected health establishments nationally and internationally”.
In addition, it indicated that in the months of January and February of this year other products have been distributed, among which are Etoposide, Cytarabine, Cyclophosphamide, Methotrexate, Bicalutamide, Erlotinib, Docetaxel, Ondansetron and Mitoxantrone.
The Minsa mentions in a press release that from the Cenares warehouse the medicines are distributed to the National Institute of Neoplastic Diseases (INEN), to the south, north and center offices of the Regional Institute of Neoplastic Diseases (IREN), to the Hospital Cayetano Heredia , Hospital Loayza, Hospital María Auxiliadora, among others.
Likewise, it is being distributed to EsSalud establishments and regions.
