Santo Domingo.- The National Drug Control Directorate (DNCD) and members of the Public Ministry seized two hidden cocaine packages on cloth rolls, which, according to the load manifesto, would be sent to Australia.
The anti -narcotics agents, under the coordination of a prosecutor, carried out an inspection in the deposits of a company located in the National District.
During the review, they found the packets of the illicit substance camouflaged inside the cloth rolls and wrapped in coal paper.
The approximate weight of the seized drug is one kilogram. According to the manifesto, the merchandise had been sent in a box by a man domiciled on Avenida Libertad, in La Romana province, and was intended for an individual with residence in Holmes Street, Brunswick East, Australia.
“The Public Ministry and the DNCD develop investigations in relation to the frustrated sending of cocaine to Australia to arrest and make available to justice those involved in this international drug trafficking network,” says a statement from the anti -drug agency.
The authorities continue to reinforce security controls, which has allowed to detect various strategies used by criminal networks trying to evade surveillance to traffic drugs to the United States and Europe.
