Ukrainian presidential adviser Mykhailo Podoliak reported on his Telegram channel that an agreement has been reached with the Russian side for a temporary ceasefire as well as the establishment of humanitarian corridors.
“The parties have reached an understanding on the joint creation of humanitarian corridors with a temporary ceasefire,” Podoliak said on his Telegram channel.
The second round of negotiations between Russia and Ukraine began today in the town of Belovezhskaya Pushcha, in the Belarusian region of Brest, near the Polish border, the Belarusian agency BELTA reported.
However, Podoliak added that the Ukrainian negotiating delegation “did not obtain the results it expected and will continue the dialogue in a third round of talks.”
The head of the Russian delegation, Vladimir Medinski, said that “in general, there was an understanding at the negotiating table”, but on certain issues “the Ukrainian side took time for reflections and consultations in Kiev”.
