The Attorney General of the Republic, Tarek William Saab, informed that the deputy director of the Juan Escalona Liceo de El Hatillo, will be charged with omission in the case of the adolescent who was physically, psychologically and verbally for other students of the institution.
Saab indicated – in an interview with VTV – that in less than a year two delicate events occurred in that educational center, so there are deprived of liberty, which receive corrections according to Venezuela’s criminal responsibility.
She stressed that the deputy director will be charged “by omission, since she received the complaints and did nothing.”
Saab said that in the country there is adolescent’s criminal responsibility from the age of 14. “The girls who appear not only threatening to bite the minor attacked of thirteen, but the beating they give him is bestial, the verbal threats, the saddest (…) We have already given psychological assistance, I I interviewed her, we have attended her relatives. It had been twice hit, the aggressors had a hatred, I do not know if by envy, for quarrels, but hate is totally unjustified. ”
He also indicated that all the teenagers who participated and recorded are arrested; Two are 15 years old, which are in a minors rehabilitation center; The remaining ones are 12 and 13, were presented to the Protection Council, their parents with them signed a series of commitments because they cannot be deprived of liberty, but are obliged to have quality preventive behavior, both educational and family.
The prosecutor also emphasized a second case with students from that same institution, where They threw a teenager for a ravine. The aggressors are arrested for this unfortunate fact. “That is not the idiosyncrasy of our youth; Our youth likes to study, likes to do sports, he likes joy, he likes to feel good, he likes to share with his family, in the free days to go to the beach, do good things. ”
Saab called to denounce any kind of violence and especially against children and adolescents.
