The President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, stressed that the Venezuelan justice system has been fundamental in the defense of our peace, dismantling stalks and ambush.
This was indicated on Friday by the Head of State from the Supreme Court of Justice (TSJ) during the Opening of judicial activities of the year 2025.
“2024 will be remembered as the year in which the people and institutions unmasked the great conspiracy against our democracy and the right to peace. We believe in Venezuela! ”He said.
Maduro rescued that in last year a constitutional task that had been postponed was resumed: the justice of peace.
“In consultation with the people, with the communities, the elections for the formation of the judges and judges of peace throughout Venezuela were achieved on December 15, 2024,” he said.
In addition, he instructed to advance in the strengthening of the entire preventive and penitentiary system of the country. In that sense, he ordered the elimination of vices that generate “pranes” in prisons.
“With a strict system and with the accompaniment of all the bodies of the judicial system, I have even asked to support Christian representatives, because religion is relief and hope for those who fall into the crime,” he said.
Constitutional reform
The Venezuelan dignitary also said that this year progress will be made in the constitutional reform, which will be agreed in the dialogue and debate with the entire Venezuelan society.
Maduro proposed three vital elements for constitutional reform:
1.- Expand democracy to the highest level, we have the experience.
2.- Define the elements that must compose the society we are building for the 21st century. With values, ethics and spirituality our American, a new modernity that replaces the decadent Western modernity.
3.- The economic model, with the new bases that we have built, free ourselves from the dependence of hydrocarbons, while developing this sector. We have to stop depending on oil and produce everything in articulation with the New World.
