In a joint operation carried out on the border of Aceguá, police forces of Uruguay and Brazil carried out an important drug seizure
The Brazilian Civil Police, through the 3rd DINARC and Draco de Bagé, in collaboration with the anti -narcotics team of the National Police of Cerro Largo, under the coordination of the commissioner Washington Videla and the head of support groups Larry López, led to carried out the operation in Uruguayan territory.
During the intervention, more than 42 kilograms of marijuana bud were seized, marking the greatest confiscation recorded in this border area. The Brazilian authorities had been monitoring a property in Uruguay that was used as a drug store for Brazil.
When detected the arrival of two individuals who began to manipulate several bags, the Uruguayan police were alerted, who went to the place and found 3 kilograms of the substance. The suspects managed to flee in a vehicle to Uruguayan territory. Subsequently, dozens of additional bags were located, adding a total of more than 42 kilograms of marijuana.
The Cristiano Ritta delegate, head of the Police Station of Organized Criminal Actions (Draco), stressed that collaboration with Denarc and the integration with the Uruguayan police allowed to avoid that more than 80,000 doses of marijuana arrive in Brazil.
The seized drug was transferred to Melo, and the investigation continues under the supervision of the 1st Turn prosecution.
