A survey published Thursday by Gallup, found that 47 % of those consulted support Trump’s mandate so far, just above 4 5 % he obtained at this point during his first term.
This qualification places it below all other elected presidents since 1953. He is still the only elected boss commander with an approval index below 50 %, according to the survey.
The Trump disapproval index is 48 %, 3 percentage points higher than in 2017. It marks a new maximum for that index at the beginning of a president’s mandate.
Former President Biden received an approval index of 57 %, the same as former president George W. Bush.
The president who received the highest approval index when assuming was former president Kennedy.
Gallup pointed out that Trump’s current approval index “is not statistically different” from past readings.
“However, Trump’s initial evaluations differ that Americans are much more prone to disapprove of their performance instead of not having an opinion, as was the case of Bush Padre and Reagan,” the survey said.
The survey was conducted from January 21 to 27 between 1 001 adults and has a margin of error of 4 percentage points.
