Santo Domingo.-The confrontations in the parties find their greatest expression in their internal elective stages, which are usually used to redefine their functionality, which opens spaces to harsh criticisms that do not always end well.
The disputes arising in the force of the people (FP), some of them overreach when considering even aspects of the presidential candidacy by the year 2028, are an expression of that reality.
“What is being given in the FP is a fight, mainly around the General Secretariat, understanding this as a necessary space for political leadership,” said the politicalologist Fredy Ángel Castro.
He referred the origins of the organization as a result of a division in the Dominican Liberation Party (PLD) and emphasized that it is at this time that the party enters its organizational phase because what it has done so far is to attend electoral processes.
“Here are then high, intermediate leaderships, who fight to occupy the space of the General Secretariat, since the leadership of Dr. Leonel Fernández is out of dispute and discussion to occupy the presidency,” said Castro.
He said that these confrontations are normal around the parties anywhere in the world and that congresses are spaces for confrontation and struggle.
“Therefore, in this case we must clearly establish that ideological struggles, or political positions are not treated, is more a confrontational struggle for the space of the control of the party to its interior.”
