The businessman Mario Pinazo gave an emotional speech, remembering anecdotes and achievements of Velarde, at the headquarters located in the district of San Isidro.
Likewise, Felipe James Callao, president of the SNI, thanked Velarde for the economic stability that predominates in the country, despite the political crises that have existed over the years in Peru.

Today, our currency is strong, inflation has been one of the lowest in the region, and our international reserves exceed 80,000 million dollars. As recalled, on January 23, Julio Velarde was present in the Economic Forum, where he said that in America there are rulers and ministers of economy that have no empathy about the results of inflation.
“Many times, the Ministers of Finance and the rulers do not show enough empathy about inflation,” he said in Davos.
On the other hand, Velarde also explained that Peru beyond expansion policies in various countries, what worries him is the behavior of commodities prices that can have an impact on inflation.
