Machine and Equipment Industry Revenue drops of 8.6%

Net revenue from the Brazilian machinery and equipment industry fell 8.6% from January to December 2024, compared to the same period of 2023. Import

Brazilian imports of machines in 2024 reached US $ 29.5 billion, with an increase of 10.6% compared to the previous year, the second largest brand since 2013. Chinese equipment answered for the majority (31.5%) when registered growth of 5.3 percentage points compared to the previous period (2023).

United States machine imports, which come shortly after those of China, fell 6%. From Germany, the third origin of imports, there was a small increase in shipments to Brazil (2.6%).

Exports

Exports of Brazilian machinery and equipment reached US $ 13.1 billion in 2024, a 5.5% decrease compared to 2023. The result was the second best mark in the historical series, losing only 2023, when they were sold abroad US $ 13.9 billion in machines and equipment.

In 2024, among the countries that registered an increase in the acquisition of Brazilian machinery and equipment, it was Singapore, South Korea, Mexico, Guyana, France and Saudi Arabia. Among those who had a fall, appear United States, Argentina, Paraguay, Chile and Peru. For the United States, the fall was 11.2% and occurred mainly in construction machines; For Argentina, the decrease was 17%, especially in oil and gas machines.
