Monterrey, NL. In the third quarter of 2024, Nuevo León lived one of the effects of Nearhsoring, by contributing 27.5% of the growth of the country’s economic activity and became the first national place, indicates the Ministry of State Economy, based on the Quarterly indicator of state economic activity (Itaee) of the INEGI.
The State had a growth of 5.8% in the third quarter of 2024, compared to the same period of the previous year, while at the national level the growth was 1.7 percent.
On the other hand, in its annual comparison (January to September 2024), Nuevo León contributed 17.8% of the growth of national economic activity, and a growth of 4.1% as an entity.
“Nuevo León is a state in constant growth and records that position us as the best place to invest and live,” said Emmanuel Loo, responsible for the Office of the Secretariat of State Economy.
“We are an attractive state for local and foreign investments, and that allows clear economic growth, which is reflected in indicators like this,” he said.
The construction sector was the one that had the highest growth, registering 29.4% during the third quarter, and 29.1% in the accumulated from January to September.
Nuevo León Business Immex leads
On the other hand, the entity is a national leader of new establishments, with a total of 712 companies integrated into the manufacturing, maquiladora and export services program (IMMEX), registered 25 new establishments, from a total of 33 to national level.
According to INEGI, as of November 2024, IMMEX companies in the state generate 369,586 jobs.
Nuevo León also added 52 new patterns with more than 251 workers, which represents 34% of the new patterns nationwide in that segment of workers, which reached 154.
“This balance positions Nuevo León with a participation of 13.7% of IMMEX companies nationwide and 12.9% of employment. These are good news confirming the strength of our state to continue ascending, ”said Emmanuel Loo.
