The international company Thomas Greg and Sons communicated its decision to withdraw the lawsuit he had filed against the Colombian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. This legal action, which had resulted in a long judicial process of almost two years, was a consequence of alleged irregularities in the tender for the printing and distribution of passports.

The lawsuit initially demanded compensation of $ 117,000 million, a figure that will finally be not required by the company.
Through an official statement, the Pasportes 2023 Temporary Union, operated by Thomas Greg and Sons, explained that, after having reached an acceptable level of compensation to their interests, he decided to voluntarily withdraw the legal claims.
“That is why he has voluntarily decided to give up the claims of the lawsuit to terminate the conflict he held with the Ministry, in which he does not identify with the corporate vision of the members of the UT,” said the statement.
This agreement ends a prolonged dispute, which had had significant repercussions for both the company and the Colombian State. The lawsuit arose after the then Chancellor Álvaro Leyva declared public tender 001 of 2023, which led Thomas Greg & Sons to take legal actions against the Colombian government.
In order to guarantee the continuity of the service and avoid more complications, the Colombian government extended the contract with the company under the emergency figure manifests until October 2024, and subsequently until 2025.
