Lizeth Ruizcandidate for the Municipality of Cerro Largo by the Broad Front and supported by the Movement of Popular Participation (MPP) and other groups, gave details about her electoral campaign in an interview for The professional. Ruiz highlighted the intense work that has been carried out for more than a year in preparation for the departmental elections of May.
Collective work with the groups that support it
Ruiz stressed the importance of the support he receives from various groups from the Frente Amplio, such as lists 1001, 77, 76 and the new republican impulse (NIR). “We are working with the classmates of these lists, holding meetings almost every day to plan for May. It is essential to coordinate not only for the departmental elections, but also for the mayors, the assembly of lists and the definition of the candidates for mayor and their substitutes ”he explained.
The candidate stressed that this work is not recent: “Since May of last year we have been active, first with the inmates and now intensifying work at this decisive stage.”
The role of fratti and the national support of the MPP
On the participation of Alfredo Fratti, former intentione and outstanding figure of the Broad Front, Ruiz expressed his gratitude for support. “Fratti is facing another stage politically, but we continue to have its support. He accompanies us and will be present, like other MPP partners nationwide, who have demonstrated their commitment to come to talk with the neighbors of the department. ”
A program focused on citizenship
Ruiz said that the work of his campaign is not only limited to the city of Melo, but also covers the localities and rural areas of the department. “We have a program prepared by the Frente Amplio that we will work together with all the groups that support my candidacy. We will listen to the demands of citizenship, because we know that management must always be at the service of people. Therefore, our presence will be active both in the departmental capital and inside ”he said.
An intense work agenda in territory
In relation to recent activities, Ruiz highlighted an agenda of tours of the department. “We had a very moved agenda. On Saturday we were in Las Cañas, then in Rio Branco, where we met with a group of colleagues, and we also visited Laguna Merín. These visits are part of our commitment to listen to neighbors, because we understand that only knowing local realities can build a solid and transformative project. ”
Finally, Ruiz concluded reaffirming his commitment to work in unity to achieve efficient and close management. “Citizens have asked for joint work, and that is what we do in the Frente Amplio. We are always at the service of the people, because only united we will achieve a change for the department. ”
