The first vice president of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (Psuv), Diosdado Cabello, announced that on February 4 the congress of the party and the Jpsuv will hold a special session, in order to make proposals for candidates for the April 27 elections. .
In the usual weekly Psuv press conference, Cabello read the statement issued earlier by the National Electoral Council informing that the elections will be held on April 27 for deputies to the National Assembly, as well as for governors and members of the Legislative Councils.
In this sense, he indicated that for this reason “we announce to the country, to the party militancy, that we have decided to convene for February 4 the congress of the Psuv and the Jpsuv jointly, for a special session to make proposals to the high political command for the selection of the party’s candidates for the April 27 elections.”
“We Chavistas inform that we are ready to actively participate in these elections and achieve a great electoral victory on Sunday, April 27,” he said, commenting that whoever has the most votes wins.
Cabello considered it convenient to have the parties participating in the aforementioned elections sign their commitment to respect the electoral result.
He commented that “there are people who are afraid of elections, who refuse to participate in elections, they like the path of violence.”
Likewise, he assured that the elections “will be held whether the fascist extreme right wants it or not,” he expressed, commenting that they have become their own instrument of destruction.”
He highlighted that for the democratic day, “37 political organizations plus all the social movements that live in political organizations, but when it comes to exercising the vote, go and exercise the vote in these political organizations have announced their participation.”
