The Comunes Party expressed its strong rejection of the murder of Alejandro Escobar, a member of the community, which occurred in a commercial establishment in the municipality of Bugalagrande, in the department of Valle del Cauca.
Through a statement, the party indicated that this new homicide not only affects the community, but to “the hope of a country at peace.”
“Our comrade joins the many innocent victims who have fallen into the hands of those who seek to sow fear and destroy dreams of peace and social justice. This murder is an affront not only against his familyloved ones, but, against hope itself of a country that has taken steps towards peacebut which continues to face the horrors of violence, war and intolerance,” the bulletin reads.

Likewise, the Comunes party urged the National Government and international organizations mediate for the protection of leaders of said political party.
