Alejandro Gallegos: Journalist found dead in Tabasco

The journalist Alejandro Gallegosdirector of the weekly La Voz del Pueblo and professor at the Juárez Autonomous University of Tabasco, was found dead this Saturday in that state.

The Tabasco prosecutor’s office detailed in a statement that the journalist’s body was found at the foot of a road and that the motive for the crime is in the investigation stage.

Violence hits Mexico

Villahermosa, the capital of that state, was the city with the highest perception of insecurity in Mexico in the last quarter of 2024, according to a survey by the National Institute of Statistics (Inegi). The survey showed that 95.3% of adults in that city consider it “unsafe” to live there.
