The National Bank for Economic and Social Development (BNDES) made available, this Thursday (23), another R $ 4.8 billion in funds for rural credit operations in the program of the Safra Plan 2024-2025. Of this amount, R $ 2.7 billion will be destined to lines aimed at business agriculture and R $ 2.1 billion for family farming.
Thus, the total resources still available in the different agricultural programs of the Federal Government (PAGF) to be passed on by the bank is R $ 11 billion, with time for use by June this year.
The money can be used by farmers, cooperatives and family farmers to cost and invest in various purposes, including expansion of production, acquisition of machinery and equipment, storage and innovation.
This new release of resources demonstrates BNDES’s strategic role in supporting Brazilian agro, promoting both the growth of family farming and the development of business agriculture, said BNDES President Aloizio Mercadante. “Our goal is to ensure that small and medium producers have access to the credit needed to invest in innovation, modernization and sustainable practices, strengthening the production chain and contributing to the transition to a greener economy,” he added.
