Judge orders detention in San Pedro prison for blockers of events in Mairana

Ángel VA and Adán ZU were sent to San Pedro prison (La Paz) for a period of 180 days, according to the resolution of a judge from the seat of Government. Both are involved in attacks on journalists and police in the municipality of Mairana, during the blockade of roads by followers of Evo Morales.

According to the list of facts, everything dates back to October 29 of last year, when groups related to Evo Morales decided to block the (old) highway, which connects Santa Cruz with Cochabamba and other regions of the country. The demand was the qualification of the former president as a candidate for this year’s general elections, in addition to the recognition of the MAS congress of Lauca Ñ, where Morales was proclaimed president of the MAS.

Ángel VA and Adán ZU are accused of the crimes of alleged terrorism, criminal association, destruction and deterioration of State property, aggravated robbery, serious and minor injuries, and attempted homicide. Legal actions are followed by the Public Ministry, after a group of Blockers attacked a police unit and left several officers and communicators badly injured.

There are two other defendants in this same case. Gerónimo Nicolás PS and Armando AR In both cases due to lack of technical defense (they did not accept the public defense) they will be taken into custody on January 28 at 10:00 virtually.
