Minister Santivañez admits crime wave and affirms that his position is available

The Minister of the Interior, Juan José Santiváñez He reported that his position is at the disposal of the President of the Republic and Prime Minister Gustavo Adrianzén, given the numerous criticisms for his management in the face of the increase in crime figures that affect the country.

“Our position is always placed at the disposal of the President of the Republic and the Prime Minister and they are the ones who ultimately have the power to decide the case of any other minister who could, according to the tasks or jobs they have carried out, stop provide services in favor of the nation,” he said at a press conference.

“As long as that does not happen, we will continue with the same effort, with the same commitment, obliged in this case and also contributing to the fight against insecurity,” he added.

Furthermore, the minister admitted that our country is going through a wave of crime but assured that he is “fighting” this situation together with the national police.

“Those who say that the Ministry of the Interior, that the national police does nothing, is simply because they are not well informed, because they have absolutely no idea what is happening. Part of that issue is recognizing that we are indeed facing a wave of crime , but that wave of crime, the national police with everything we are doing, is fighting it,” he said.
