The general secretary of the municipality of Colonia, the Moreirista, Guillermo Rodríguez, accompanied by the President of the Tourism and Economic Affairs Commission of the Departmental Board, Edil Alejandro Fioroni, together with the mayor of Colonia Valdense Valeria Dalmás and officials of the Municipality , linked to the area, visited the beach strip, from Balneario Los Pinos to Brisas del Plata to evaluate works that are being carried out in some of them, such as the descent inclusive in Balneario Los Pinos and in Balneario Santa Regina, being accompanied by residents of the area listening to various aspirations for improvements.
Rodríguez highlighted the relevance of the inclusive works that are being carried out, especially in the Los Pinos Spa. “The idea is to continue replicating them. This, in particular, is a work of the Municipality of Colonia Valdense, but the departmental government has done it on other beaches. We also want to provide amphibious chairs in the places where these descents are, so that people with difficulties can enjoy the river like anyone else.”
Regarding Santa Regina, Rodríguez announced significant advances in infrastructure. “We came to see the 14 blocks that we are going to pave. If everything goes as planned, the tender would be awarded by the end of February. “It is a work that was pending last year and that we will resume to improve the area.”
In addition, he stressed the importance of working together with neighbors to address environmental issues, given the natural value of the region. “It is one of the most important factors. “The departmental government, together with municipalities, NGOs and neighbors, works together to give the population what they deserve in terms of environmental protection.”
Rodríguez also pointed out the tourism growth in areas such as Santa Regina and the competitiveness of Colonia as a destination. “Santa Regina, which was previously isolated, today feels more integrated. This is also noticeable in places like Santa Ana or Britópolis. Furthermore, the Argentine public is essential for us, and with recent changes, we are almost on par in costs or even more competitive. This places us once again as an attractive destination.” he remarked.
