Higüey.- The bishop of the Diocese of Our Lady of La Altagracia, Monsignor Jesús Castro Marte, expressed his support for the Minister of the Interior and Police, Faride Raful, for her policies focused on regulating the sale of alcohol, controlling noise levels and promote a more orderly environment in the Dominican Republic.
In his homily during the mass for the Day of Our Lady of La Altagracia, Monsignor Castro Marte urged the authorities to be firm in the application of these policies, highlighting: “Let the authorities not tremble with the wrists of the beverage sellers.” alcoholic.”
The bishop also made a strong call for the regulation of urban disorder, stating that “the noise and chaos are unbearable. “There has to be mandatory restriction in an orderly country.”

The mass was presided over by President Luis Abinader, accompanied by First Lady Raquel Arbaje and Vice President Raquel Peña, as well as other prominent authorities. Thousands of parishioners made a pilgrimage to the Cathedral Basilica in Higüey to pay tribute to the spiritual mother and protector of the Dominican people.
