A survey carried out by the Federation of Industries of the State of São Paulo (Fiesp) indicated that 45.2% of the 290 industries surveyed considered that the second half of 2024 was better compared to the same period of the previous year. Another 27.9% stated that the situation had not changed and 26.9% indicated that it had worsened.
According to the data, the production volume in the second half of the year was considered better by 44.1% of companies. For 28.1% it was the same and for 27.8% it was worse. For 44.2%, sales in the domestic market increased, while for 26.4% they fell and for 29.5% they were the same. For 53.7%, exports remained at the same level. Sales in the foreign market improved to 24.8% and worsened to 21.5%.
The research “Rumos da Indústria Paulista” also shows that for the first half of 2025, industries in São Paulo expect stability in relation to production volume (45.3%), sales to the domestic market (44.1%) and exports (53.7%). When asked if they intend to hire in 2025, 65.2% say no and 34.8% say yes.
The research was carried out between December 2nd and 18th, 2024 and involved 290 manufacturing industries of all sizes, located in the state of São Paulo.
