The department of Cerro Largo experienced significant rainfall in recent hours, with considerable variations between different locations. The maximum accumulation of rain was recorded in Bañado de Medina, where 53 mm fell, according to the data collected.
In Melo, the departmental capital, 46 mm were recorded, while Fraile Muerto barely reached 5 mm. Other notable records include 50 mm in Cerro de las Cuentas, 45 mm in Cuchilla del Carmen and 41 mm in Mazangano.
Other locations also reported significant accumulations:
• Tupambaé: 29 mm
• Tree: 23 mm
• Plácido Rosas: 18 mm
• Lake Merín: 17 mm
• Straw Bath and Centurion: barely 2 mm each.
• Three Boliches: 22 mm each.
These rains benefit the soil situation, especially in rural areas, although their uneven distribution leaves sectors with minimal records of fallen water. Authorities continue to monitor weather conditions in the department.
