A judge from the Judicial Office of Permanent Care Services of the Duarte province imposed three months of prison preventative, as a measure of coercionagainst two of the seven involved in the million-dollar robbery of medicines of high cost that occurred in the Patronato Contra Cancer del Nordeste.
The others accused received different measures of coercion.
The court sent prison to Anthony Reynoso Reyes and Rocki Yempier Suárez Aracena.The room arranged arrest house arrest against Randy Manuel Peña.
While Esther Vitoria Díaz Gastón, Ana María Paulino Santos, Yarelis Denise Cortorreal and José Antonio Rodríguez González must introduce yourself periodically before the prosecutor’s office and will not be able to leave the country for the duration of the process.
The seven accused are collaborators of the Northeast Cancer Institute, entity that works in coordination with the Board of Trustees.
The Public Ministry attributes to the group the crimes association of criminals, theft through the use of technology, illicit obtaining of funds, identity theft, traffic of controlled substances and money laundering.
In the indictment, the prosecution body establishes that the defendants allegedly removed the medicine from the warehouse and recorded purchases at lower prices in the accounting system.
It was determined in an audit that the amount of medicine stolen -Oxicalmans-, used in cancer patients, has a worth of RD$11 million.
