Laura Sarabia will leave the direction of the Administrative Department of the Presidency (Dapre)as confirmed by sources from the Casa de Nariño to the newspaper EL TIEMPO. Now he will assume the chancellorship, replacing Luis Gilberto Murillo. This will be his fourth position in this Government.
The departure of the Dapre from the right hand of the President Gustavo Petro It occurs in the midst of the ministerial shake-up facing the final stretch of the current Government. It is worth mentioning that this same Monday the departure of Mauricio Lizcano of the Ministry of Information and Communications Technologies (ICT).

In addition, Luis Gilberto Murillo will leave the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to focus on his aspiration for the Presidency.
Sarabia’s replacement at Dapre will be Vice Chancellor Jorge Rojas. Both officials will begin their new duties as of January 31.

His career in the current Government
Laura Sarabia is, perhaps, the official closest to the current head of state, as she has accompanied him at numerous events and political events of great importance; however, He has held different official positions in the little more than two years of the current administration.

Sarabia began his work in the Petro government as chief of staffbeing responsible for the presidential agenda. However, following an investigation by the Attorney General’s Officewhich involved an alleged polygraph test on Marelbys Meza, her son’s nanny, for the alleged disappearance of a briefcase with money in her private residence, ended up leaving this position. Everything happened at the beginning of 2023.
In September of the same year, Sarabia returned to the Government, for that occasion, as director of the Department of Social Prosperityreplacing Rusinque Skywho later took over as Superintendent of Industry and Commerce. Despite criticism and the investigation by the Prosecutor’s Office, she remained in the DPS until February 2025, when she became director of Dapre.
