The director of the National Institute for Food and Drug Surveillance (Invima), Francisco Rossi, announced that heThe Chilean Agricultural and Livestock Service (SAG) enabled five establishments for the export of chilled boneless beef and frozen Colombian to that country.
The official highlighted that The Chilean health authority allowed the export of four processing plants and one deburring plant, after verifying compliance with the required requirements.
“These plants are added to the seven that had already been enabled (four processors of chilled and frozen boneless beef and three of salted pork intestines), as a result of the SAG visit to Colombia in 2024,” he indicated.
The official stressed that the export authorization will be valid for two years, in accordance with exempt resolution No.: 16/2025, issued by the SAG on January 3, 2025.
“These establishments had been left with a “pending” status, according to the report of the visit carried out by the SAG in May 2024, but, through articulated work between the plants and Invima, action plans were implemented, the which “They were favorably evaluated by the SAG, which allowed their authorization,” indicated Francisco Rossi Buenaventura, general director of Invima.
The official pointed out that this is the result of the strength of the inspection, surveillance and control processes, carried out by Invima and the ICA to achieve the Admissibility of meat products in international markets.
“With this authorization, it is expected to maintain exports of beef to Chile, by the establishments that were already authorized (about 400 tons per month) and an increase due to the authorization of the new establishments (about 300 tons per month). ),” he added.

According to Invima, the plants authorized by Chile to export Colombian meat are:
• Meat Foods SAS Beneficiation plant located in Aguachica, Cesar. (First time enablement).
• Red Cárnica SAS Processing and processing plant located in Ciénaga de Oro, Córdoba. (Renewal of authorization).
• Camagüey SA Beneficiation plant and waste located in Galapa, Atlantic. (First time enablement).
• Operatión & Services SAS Cutting plant located in Villavicencio, Meta. (First time enablement).
• Colbeeff SAS Beneficiation and deburring plant located in Floridablanca, Santander. (Renewal of authorization).
