Through decrees 19-25 and 20-25 signed by President Luis Abinader, new ambassadors of the Dominican Foreign Service were appointed, complying with the provisions of law 630-16 on rotation in diplomatic missions, as reported this Friday the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The Foreign Ministry indicated that decree 20-25 appoints María Isabel Castillo Báez, as extraordinary and plenipotentiary ambassador to the United States of America, who to date is the Dominican ambassador to the United Mexican States; to Juan Bolivar Díaz Santana as extraordinary and plenipotentiary ambassador to the United Mexican States, whowho is currently the Dominican ambassador to the Kingdom of Spain.

He also names to Tony Raful Tejada extraordinary and plenipotentiary ambassador to the Kingdom of Spainwho to date is the Dominican ambassador to the Italian Republic; and Rafael Antonio Lantigua Ciriaco as extraordinary and plenipotentiary ambassador to the Italian Republic.
The head of State appointed the Diplomatic Career officials, Ana Idalia del Rosario Castellanos de Kranwinkel as ambassador, alternate permanent representative of the Dominican Republic to the Organization of American States (OAS), who to date is the director of Regional Integration in the MIREX; and Alejandra Hernández González as ambassador, alternate permanent representative of the Dominican Republic to the United Nations (UN), who served as minister counselor at the Dominican Embassy in the French Republic.
It is expected that after these appointments the Senate of the Republic will approve them to make these appointments official.
About those appointed
María Isabel Castillo Báez has a PhD in Law, with a master’s degree in International Law and other studies, with a career of more than 20 years in the foreign service with the positions of counselor and ambassador at the Dominican Embassy in the United Mexican States.
Juan Bolivar Díaz Santana is a prominent journalist with postgraduate studies who has worked in the journalistic and diplomatic field with the ranks of ambassador to the Republic of Peru and currently ambassador to the Kingdom of Spain.
Tony Raful Tejada is a Doctor of Law, a graduate in Political Science who has served as Minister of Culture, deputy to Parlacen, national literature award winner and currently Dominican ambassador to the Italian Republic.
Rafael Antonio Lantigua Ciriaco is a prominent Dominican doctor, the first to receive the Mr. Oscar de la Renta Dominican Emigrant Award, a teacher and altruist carrying out actions in favor of the migrant community to the United States, especially the Dominican one.
Ana Idalia del Rosario Castellanos de Kranwinkel is a career diplomat, doctor in Social and Legal Sciences, master’s degree in Ibero-American International Relations. She has been a MIREX official since 2006, holding different positions up to the current one as Director of Regional Integration.
Alejandra Hernández González is also a career diplomat, with a degree in Philosophy and Humanities with a master’s degree in Political Theory. She has 20 years of experience in the diplomatic field in which she has served as minister counselor in several Dominican missions until the current one at the Dominican Embassy in the French Republic.
