Nearly 175,000 members of the Cauca Indigenous Association will be transferred to 11 EPS

The process will be carried out starting February 1 in eight departments of the country.

Starting next February 1, some 174,588 members of the Cauca Indigenous Association (AIC EPSI) will be transferred to 11 EPS with the purpose of guaranteeing their health care.

The process will be carried out directly by the Ministry of Health to ensure their right to Health in the departments of Antioquia, Caldas, Córdoba, Huila, La Guajira, Nariño, Putumayo and Valle del Cauca.

The transfer of these patients and users from these regions of the country to the EPS was carried out after joint work by the Ministry of Health and the Administrator of the Resources of the General Health Social Security System (Adres).

The Ministry of Health stated that In this way, Decree 719 of 2024 will be complied with and in compliance with the orders of the National Superintendency of Health, through Resolution 2024310000016804-6 of December 31, 2024.

“In total 11 EPS will receive these users, prioritizing the fundamental right to health of Colombians and guaranteeing quality, opportunity, continuity and comprehensive health care for members and their families,” the Ministry indicated.

“The People included in this transfer can consult the EPS to which they were assigned by entering: https://www.minsalud.gov.co/Paginas/ConsultaAfiliados.aspx. On this platform, you will be able to learn about the health services network available in your receiving EPS and update your contact details“, explained the entity.

The Ministry of Health highlighted that this decision was made after complaints about the alleged lack of care for this population at the national level.

“The objective is to facilitate access to health services, so it is recommended that the contributing member or head of the family contact the assigned EPS as of February 1 to update your basic information and that of your family group“, held.

He pointed out that The Ministry of Health and Social Protection has instructed the receiving EPS to guarantee comprehensive care for all patients, giving priority to those with high-cost illnesses, pregnant mothers, hospitalized patients and people with chronic diseases.

“If users are not satisfied with the assigned EPS, they may request a transfer starting April 1, 2025. Finally, the Ministries of Health are urged of all territories and the National Health Superintendency to supervise that the receiving EPS guarantee continuity in the provision of services and that health service providers do not impose access barriers for the care of users,” the entity said.

These are the 11 EPS where the members of the Indpigena Association will be transferred:

* New EPS.

* Coosahealth.

* Emssanar.

* EPS meshes.

* EPS Famisanar.

* Anas Wayuu EPS.

* Health Sap.

* Asmet Health.

* EPS Sanitas.

* Pijaos Salud.
