The young vallenato singer Miguel Ángel Díaz, son of the iconic Diomedes Díaz, died this Saturday, January 18, after months of fighting health complications that kept his family, friends and followers in suspense.

Miguel Ángel, who had been admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of a clinic in Bogotá, faced a series of medical complications that worsened over time.

At the end of October 2024, he suffered four serious heart attacks, which forced him to undergo three intubation processes. Despite medical efforts, his health continued to deteriorate, and the formation of blood clots led doctors to make a drastic decision: amputate his right leg to save his life.

However, the complications did not stop, and in early January 2025, the Díaz family faced new challenges when Miguel Ángel developed severe abdominal pain.

According to Miguel Ángel’s mother, Yolanda Rincon, after some tests he was diagnosed with peritonitis, a serious infection that affected several of his organs, which further aggravated his situation.

Miguel Ángel’s brother confirmed his death through his social networks

On Saturday, January 18, the sad announcement of his death was made by his brother, Rafael María Díaz, who shared an emotional farewell message through his social networks.

“Thank you for your best moments and for being that great brother, noble and kind-hearted. We will always remember you. Rest in peace, manito. You fought until the end and fought the battle. God bless you. We love you,” Rafael wrote.

Miguel Ángel Díaz, who followed in his father’s footsteps in vallenato, fought tirelessly for his life, but was unable to overcome medical complications. His death has left deep sadness in the world of vallenato music, where he is remembered as a promising talent.
