Luis García Villagrán, activist and defender of the human rights of migrants, recently denounced the irregular sale of Multiple Migration Formulas (FMM) by INM agents in Chiapas.
According to the complaint, the FMM are sold for up to 60,000 pesos, presumably to alleviate the migratory saturation in the region.
Just this January 15, migrants protested in Escuintla, Chiapas, during the report of municipal president Carlos González Moreno, demanding support from the state and federal government in terms of medical care, food and water, as well as the delivery of the permits that they allow free transit through Mexico.
Until now, the statements of local, state and federal authorities have promised that they will care for and support migrants who are in transit through the country.
This Friday, the president of Mexico, Claudia Sheinbaum, assured that the federal government already has a plan to serve Mexican migrants and ensure that they have spaces on the border and in other places so that they have access to social programs and employment.
