Panama and other 140 member countries of the United Nations Organization (UN) demand that Russia stop the war against Ukraine; this through the Resolution “Aggression against Ukraine”.
The 141 signatory countries voted in favor of this resolution to demand that Russia cease its invasion of Ukraine and withdraw its troops from the country.
But not all member countries of the UN considered this resolution as good, because in the vote, 5 countries voted against and 35 abstained. Russia, Belarus, North Korea, Eritrea and Syria voted against, while China, Bolivia, Cuba, El Salvador, India, Iran, Iraq, Kazakhstan, Nicaragua, Pakistan and other countries abstained.
In the document “Aggression against Ukraine”, they describe the military intervention as a violation of article 2 of the Charter of the United Nations, which “prohibits resorting to the threat or use of force” and call on all members to respect the sovereignty and political independence of any State.
