Abinader inaugura guardería y otras obras en Santo Domingo Este

Santo Domingo. – President Luis Abinader delivered various works this Saturday to the municipality of Santo Domingo Este, which include the Virgen del Amparo nursery school; the dance hall of the Francia Pérez de García Labor School and a laundry in the Dominican Naval Industry.

The child care center, according to a press document, consists of several pavilions with capacity for 153 children and has a nursing room, kitchen, bathrooms, warehouse, and recreation areas.

Meanwhile, the dance hall with capacity for 80 peoplehas lockers, bathrooms, storage and gazebo; and the laundry is fully equipped and has a waiting room, reception and delivery, office, packing, ironing, warehouse, bathroom, tailoring areas, washing, drying and boiler.

According to the Communications Directorate of the Presidency, the works were carried out with a joint investment of more than RD$ 59 million, and will improve the operational capacity and comprehensive training of the members of the Navy of the Dominican Republic, which is consolidated as a modern, humane institution committed to collective well-being.

During the event, the General Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Agustín Morillo Rodríguez, highlighted the determined support of President Abinader, and said that his transformative vision and his sensitivity to the needs of the Armed Forces have been beacons that illuminate the course.

“Mr. President, you have demonstrated with actions your commitment to the well-being of those who serve our country with honor and dedication day after day,” he said.

A Caipi in El Valiente, La Caleta

The president Abinader He also inaugurated a Comprehensive Early Childhood Care Center (Caipi) in the El Valiente sector of the municipality of Boca Chica, which will benefit 250 boys and girls aged 0 to 5 years.

The executive director of the National Institute of Comprehensive Early Childhood Care (Inaipi), Josefa Castillo Rodríguez, reported that this new space is part of the program to expand services aimed at early childhood promoted by the president, to integrate a significant number of infants and families who need the coverage of the care model implemented by the entity.

El Caipi, which will impact infants and families residing in the El Valiente and Torre B communities, has 10 rooms to receive children according to age range, in addition, it has a kitchen and a picnic area or area for the little ones to receive their snacks, breakfasts and lunches, as well as a lactation room, play areas, and offices.

The beneficiaries will also receive care under the Inaipi model, focused on the components of early stimulation and initial education; health and nutrition; attention to special educational needs and disability conditions; protection against violence; birth registration and support for families and communities.

Construction and reconstruction of streets

The head of state also led the inauguration of the construction and reconstruction of more than 13 kilometers of roadswith a width of 6 meters in the Nueva Jerusalem, Fernández Oriental, Paco I and Paco II and Brisa Oriental urbanizations, as well as roads adjacent to the San Isidro highway, with an investment that exceeds RD$ 285 million.

The Minister of Public Works, Deligne Ascención, acknowledged that although other needs are pending to be resolved “because the wait and the accumulated debt have been long years” in Santo Domingo Este, the Government has intervened about 413 kilometers of streets. In that sense, he indicated that they have scheduled an intervention of some 125 additional kilometers for the first quarter of the year, together with the mayor’s office.

Abinader also inaugurated the resurfacing and restoration of 35 kilometers of the main streets of the Alma Rosa I and Ensanche Ozama sectorswith an investment of more than RD$ 315 million.

«A municipality that exhibits well-constructed and maintained streets can reduce the risk of accidents and improve road safety. Also, streets in good condition contribute to a better quality of life by facilitating access to essential services and promoting a more orderly and clean environment,” said Ascención.

Present at the activities were the Minister of Defense, Lieutenant General Carlos Antonio Fernández Onofre; the Deputy Commander General of the Navy, Rear Admiral Juan Bienvenido Crisóstomo; the directors of National Assets and the CEA, Rafael Burgos Gómez; from the Dominican Postal Institute, Erick Guzmán; the governor of Santo Domingo, Lucrecia Santana Leyva, and the mayor of Santo Domingo Este, Dio Astacio.
